ISHITA AGGARWAL, M.D.

Dr. Ishita Aggarwal is a clinical rheumatologist. She completed her rheumatology fellowship at George Washington University. At the same time, she developed expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound having completed the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) training. A lifelong Bay Area resident, Dr. Aggarwal is excited to return to San Francisco to practice at Pacific Rheumatology Associates.

Dr. Aggarwal enjoys caring for rheumatologic patients with chronic conditions, with specific interests in systemic lupus erythematosus and inflammatory arthritis.  Along with her clinical work, Dr. Aggarwal has conducted research into several rheumatology-related topics, most notably the use of quality of care measures to manage renal disease in systemic lupus erythematosus. She has several peer-reviewed publications in academic journals including Arthritis Care and Research. She has presented her research at the American College of Rheumatology annual meeting, the Rheumatology Research Foundation and the Rheumatism Society of Washington D.C.

Before becoming a rheumatologist, Dr. Aggarwal completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and then worked there as a hospitalist. She is a proud graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she completed her undergraduate training, and of the New York University School of Medicine.

 In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter as well as traveling, hiking and baking.
